B. Production Tutorial

Step 1: Place the base layer of floral materials
First, select some larger or simpler floral materials and gently place them at the bottom of the cup, filling about 1/4 of the height. This provides a stable foundation for the flowers on top.

Step 2: Add fragrance
Open your chosen aromatherapy essential oil and evenly add 5-8 drops onto the base layer you just prepared.

    Step 3: Creative arrangement
Try gathering the floral materials on one side of the cup or creating a tiered effect with lower elements in front and higher ones in the back for a more designed look.

      Step 4: Adjust and complete

      Maintenance Tips

      • Do not water: Dried flowers are sensitive to moisture; please keep them in a dry, ventilated area.
      • Avoid direct sunlight: Direct sunlight will accelerate the fading of the flowers.
      • Refill fragrance: When the scent begins to fade, you can add a few more drops of essential oil at any time.

      C. Purpose of Production

Target Group A. Learning & Training B. Benefits & Development
Seniors 1. Container layout practice: Learning to arrange floral materials with front-to-back and height layers in a 3D cup-shaped container is a gentle form of spatial cognition training.
      2. Scent connection and memory: Choosing and identifying familiar scents (such as osmanthus or sandalwood) stimulates olfactory memory, which helps activate the brain.
      1. Creating personalized sensory comfort: Hand-crafting a decoration that continuously releases a favorite scent and placing it by the bedside or on a table brings lasting calmness and emotional soothing.
      2. Art therapy and positive reinforcement: The combination of simple operations and beautiful results (flowers and scent) effectively boosts self-efficacy, and the random text on the cup can bring daily surprises and encouragement.
Children 1. Early experience with volume and capacity: Learning how to "fill" a cup using floral materials of different sizes is an intuitive and fun introduction to early mathematical concepts of "space" and "volume."
      2. Gentle manipulation and fine motor control: Dried flowers are more fragile than fresh ones, requiring children to learn to use a lighter touch, which is excellent training for fine motor skills.
      1. Developing sensory vocabulary: Encourage children to use their own words to describe the scents they smell, linking vision (flowers) with smell (scent) to enrich their sensory expression skills.
      2. Cultivating empathy and gift-giving concepts: "What scent does Mom like?"—the process of choosing a scent for someone else and making a gift by hand is a perfect opportunity to cultivate empathy and "thinking of others."
Teenagers 1. Aesthetic atmosphere creation: Learning how to combine visual elements (floral color styles) with olfactory elements (scent profiles) to create a specific "theme" or "atmosphere" (such as fresh, romantic, or tranquil) is an advanced aesthetic exercise.
      1. Personalized space curation: The finished product is the perfect object to define the style of a personal space (desk, room). Through scent and visual elements, it subtly but powerfully expresses "this is my territory," establishing a sense of personal domain.
Adults 1. Miniature floral design: Within the limited space of a cup, practicing the principles of balance, negative space, layering, and color coordination in floral art is an exquisite technical challenge.
      2. Practical aromatherapy knowledge application: Converting abstract aromatherapy knowledge (such as lavender for sleep aid or lemon for refreshment) into a concrete, practical item that can be placed in specific scenes (bedroom, office desk).
      1. Creating functional healing spaces: This is not just handcrafting; it is a process of adding functionality to living spaces. Placing the finished product on an office desk to refresh the mind or in the entryway to welcome guests combines creation with practical lifestyle aesthetics.
      2. Creating a sensory stress-relief ritual: From picking a scent that touches you to focusing on arranging the flowers, the entire process is a mindfulness ritual that detaches you from daily worries and keeps you focused on the present moment.

      D. Common Issues During Production

      Issue Type Potential Issues Solutions
Aromatherapy & Flowers 1. How many drops of aromatherapy oil are enough?
      2. The floral materials are fragile and keep crumbling.
      1. Start with 5-8 drops on the base layer; you can always add more when the scent fades.
      2. This is normal; handle with care. The fallen petals can be placed at the bottom or used to fill gaps.
Design & Arrangement 1. I have no idea how to arrange them to look good.
      2. My creation looks messy/empty.
      1. Place the main flowers first, then the fillers. Use the largest and most beautiful flowers as the focal point, then surround them with smaller flowers.
      2. Try to create a tiered effect with lower elements in front and higher ones in back. Finally, use the smallest fragments to fill any gaps.
Techniques & Fixing 1. The stems are too long to fit in the cup.
      2. The flowers keep falling over; they won't stay in place.
      1. Use your hands or scissors to trim them to your desired length.
      2. Use surrounding floral materials to press and support each other to hold them in place.
Maintenance & Care 1. What if it loses its scent later?
      2. Does it need to be watered?
      1. You can add a few drops of aromatherapy oil directly onto the floral materials at any time.
      2. Do not touch water at all. Please keep it dry to ensure long-term preservation.
